Packing my Hospital Bag!

With just 2 weeks away for the D-Day, I recently packed my Hospital bag with dire essentials. You never know when your contractions will start and you will have to rush to the hospital, so keeping everything handy surely does wonders 🙂

Here is what I packed my HOSPITAL BAG with. I have segregated them into 6 categories: 

A) Clothing & Apparel

  1. Tshirts and PJs – around 2 to 3 pairs
  2. Robe to keep yourself warm
  3. Night gown
  4. Sweater if you feel cold in air-conditioned hospital room
  5. Underwear – 3-4 pairs
  6. Socks – 2-3 pairs to keep your feet warm
  7. Going home clothes – a pair that you will wear when you take the baby home back from the hospital

B) Nursing Essentials –

  1. Nursing bras – 2 to 3 pairs
  2. Nursing Tops – will be comfortable for breastfeeding
  3. Nursing pads – to avoid stains due to leakages
  4. Nursing pillow – to assist in breastfeeding
  5. Nipple cream – for soothing cracks
  6. Breast pumps – if you plan on using it
  7. Formula – if you plan on using one.

C) Bathing Essentials

  1. Bath towels
  2. Hair dryer
  3. Shampoo
  4. Conditioner
  5. Body wash or soap
  6. Bathroom slippers

D) Toiletries – travel size is sufficient

  1. Toothbrush
  2. Toothpaste
  3. Hair brush
  4. Deodorant
  5. Lip Balm
  6. Make up kit
  7. Hand lotion
  8. Body lotion
  9. Face cream
  10. Head bands, hair clips, etc

E) Miscellaneous Items –

  1. Insurance information, birth plan, hospital forms
  2. Pens for writing and signing
  3. Sanitary pads – you definitely need lot of these because of bleeding after delivery.
  4. Pillows
  5. Blankets
  6. Mouthwash
  7. Hand sanitizer
  8. Chewing gum
  9. Snacks
  10. Some change for vending machines
  11. Books or Magazines to read and for diversion
  12. Suduko or crossword puzzles
  13. Pack of playing cards, Bingo, Monopoly – for diversion

F) Electronic Gadgets

  1. MP3 player, ipods – for soothing music and ambience
  2. Cameras
  3. Laptops
  4. iPad
  5. Chargers for camera, iPhones, iPads, laptop
